If you’ve ever told someone you want to lose weight in 10 days or less, they probably looked at you like, “OK, you’re crazy. That’s impossible.” But the truth is…it’s very possible and has been done by many people. The secret is 1) diet and 2) exercise and I’ve even tested my methods on myself, my wife, and a few of my closest friends.

My Friend Wanted to Lose Weight in 10 Days

I have a friend that weighed 252 pounds a few months ago. He now weighs 181. Within the first 5 days he lost 18 pounds. And over the course of 10 days he lost a total of 23 pounds! Although he might be a rare case he accomplished this by consuming nothing but fresh fruit and vegetable juice. This means that every single day he juiced fruits and vegetables for 5 to 6 meals a day.

He got amazing results and so can you!

Reasons to Juice Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Juice

There is a lot of controversy about juicing because it does remove the fiber. Read this post about fiber and how much is actually extracted. You get more nutrients from juicing than consuming the fruit/vegetable in its entirety.

3 Juicing Benefits
1) Remove Toxins from Body
2) Quick and Painless Weight Loss
3) It’s Good for You

When I first became vegan, I started eating nothing but fruits and vegetables back in March of 2010. I ended up losing 30 pounds in 30 days. I had much more energy than when I was eating animal products (meat, dairy, eggs). I found out that our bodies treat animal products like foreign objects and so it has a much harder time digesting the nutrients from these foods. Eating a whole-foods, plant-based diet allows your body to absorb a lot more quality nutrients.

I use my Breville Juice Fountain Elite juicer at least once a day.

Now that we’ve covered diet for the next 10 days, let’s talk a little bit about exercise.

2 Activities to Lose Weight
My favorite exercises are the ones that are fun at the same time; the ones you don’t realize you’re exercising while doing them.

Doing bicep curl might burn a few calories but if you’ve ever been hiking, you’ll know you get a better workout and burn more calories this way. Say goodbye to the stair climber or treadmill on an incline. Hiking is a great way to get some fresh air and best of all, you’re not staring at the back of someone’s head or a TV screen for 30 minutes. You’re in nature and nature is awesome!

I really enjoy hiking. Not only do you burn a ton of calories, you also get a great outdoor experience. For someone like me who sits behind a desk all day at work, getting outside and hiking feels really great. Try searching for hiking trails in your area for a great full body workout. Depending on how much you push yourself, you can burn anywhere from 200 to 600+ calories in 30 minutes.

Swimming is another great full body workout. It requires you to use your entire body to pull yourself through the water. 18-time Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps has been said to require 12,000 calories a day just to keep his body functioning properly. He would eat as much for breakfast as many people would eat all day. Why? Because swimming requires a lot of energy. Since you’re burning a ton of calories swimming, you need to replenish your body with quality calories.

When I say “swimming” I am not referring to hanging out in a spa for an hour. I’m talking about actually moving your body within the water.

If you’re serious about losing weight, talk to your physician and try juicing fresh fruits and vegetables for 10 days. See how you feel after that. You may experience headaches, cramps, and pain the first 2 to 3 days of juicing ONLY BECAUSE your body is working on flushing out all the toxins through your blood stream. After you get rid of most of the waste, your body will feel fresh and energized. I recommend going a maximum of 60 days drinking nothing but fresh fruit and vegetable juice, depending on how much weight you need to lose. After your “juice fast,” try keeping a lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet. This will help lower cravings for junk food and will give you added nutrients and vitamins to your diet. A great inspirational documentary about juicing called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead can be watched on Hulu for free. I highly recommend watching this if you’re serious about losing weight in 10 days.
